A NEW ERA
IN ENERGY
At COP28 in 2023, the U.S. and 21 other countries pledged to triple nuclear energy by 2050, with the U.S. targeting 300 GW. President Trump later called for that to be raised to 400 GW to meet rising energy demand from AI and manufacturing.
Public support for nuclear energy has also grown significantly with Pew finding nearly 50% more Americans now in favor compared to five years ago.
However, the U.S. nuclear industry faces challenges. Construction has been slow and costly with only two reactors completed in the past 30 years. Meanwhile, China has built 37 reactors in the last decade, aiming to surpass the U.S. in nuclear technology just as it did with manufacturing decades ago.

UNLOCKING THE FUTURE OF ENERGY
The Nuclear Frontier aims to answer:
What Is Nuclear’s Future? Can nuclear be a cornerstone of the next energy revolution, powering everything from AI to electric vehicles?
How Does Nuclear Reconcile Its Past? How does the future of nuclear address past concerns about safety and cost?
Why Does Nuclear Unite an Always-Divided Congress? Nuclear energy is a rare bipartisan cause, as it offers both energy independence and a reduction in carbon emissions.
